Ahead of the Saturday, July 12, Local Government Elections in the 20 and 37 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), the representative if Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, has continue his mobilization of party structures and residents to canvass and attract votes for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming council elections.
The council elections are slated for Saturday, July 12.
The lawmaker met with the entire leadership structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) – Ward and LGA executives and also the divisional leaders across Ikorodu Division at his constituency office at the weekend, where he supported the structures financially for the elections.

At the parley, he called for increased mobilization of residents towards voting massively for the candidates of the party who were introduced by him and the Divisional Chairman of the APC, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani.
In his brief remarks, Rep. Benson reiterated his pleasure to be among his people once again and simply stated that the parley was to appreciate party structures for all that they have been doing and will do:

“We are here to thank you for all your support over the years and we are also here to thank you ahead of your full support for the Local Government Elections coming up on Saturday, July 12.”
His Director – General, Mayor Muhydeen Sanwoola, announced the financial support for the executives of the party at the ward, and council levels but did not announce details for the divisional structure.
“We are supporting our party structures from the Ward executives, woman leader and the chairman towards mobilising for the election. The same is applicable to the LGA executives, woman leader and the chairman.

“This is strictly support for the elections, we are still going to call you back after the elections to give you the quarterly financial report that Rep. Benson usually gives,” DG Sanwoola he informed.
He also announced support for the candidates and Local Organising Committees across the six councils in Ikorodu.
Otunba Olasunknami Tijani, Divisional Chairman, APC Ikorodu, also speaking said:

“We are here to plead for your support in terms of mobilization and support for our candidates and party. We are counting on you and if we can mobilise 10 voters each across the division that would translate to huge votes for our party.”
He also charged members especially the party agents and others saddled with electoral responsibilities to ensure that they are vigilant and protect the APC votes, according to him, “This is necessary because members of the Labour Party are very desperate.”

Otunba Tijani also urged members of the party to ensure that APC records a large number of votes across the six councils so that the Ikorodu Federal representative has more grounds to get projects from the Presidency.
He commended Rep. Benson for his support for the party at all times.
Former APC Chairman, Ikorodu LGA, Alhaji Rilwan Jinadu, who said that he has had opportunity to work with other past representatives from Ikorodu added that Rep Benson has taken Ikorodu higher and redefined Ikorodu’s politics.

He said that he has made Ikorodu known throughout Nigeria through his legislative competence and performance.
Hon. Lanre Balogun, former Commissioner for Rural Development also speaking described the Ikorodu lawmaker as outstanding and different in the annals of history of representation from Ikorodu.
APC Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, in his own remarks said that there is no family in Ikorodu Federal Constituency that has not benefited directly or directly from Rep. Benson’s representation.

He also added that the lawmaker has introduced modernity into Ikorodu politics and urged those going into political offices to learn and emulate him.
He too charged party members to intensify efforts in garnering votes for APC candidates.
To underline his support drive for the candidates, Rep. Benson appeared on live political engagement session on IKD 106.1FM, with all 6 APC Chairmanship candidates and their Councillorship candidates across the division. The conversation centered on capacity, accountability, and deepening the party’s connection with the grassroots.

Earlier in the day, the lawmaker through his iCare Foundation distributed the Apo Anu food support initiative for the July edition to hundreds of indigent families and vulnerable individuals across the six councils.
